Step 1: Get Started
What to expect on the day?
In this free 45 minute session, we talk through your reasons for joining, discuss your aspirations and set some SMART goals to work towards.
Next, we’ll work together to identify any barriers that may get in the way of achieving those goals, and look at how we can help you find time to visit the centre.
Finally, we'll complete a complementary health and fitness check; including taking some key body metrics to track your progress.
This gives us everything we need to design your plan for your GET ACTIVE session.
In the meantime, we’ll offer advice on exercises you could do whilst we create your plan.
What are SMART goals?
SMART goals help us identify achievable goals. Here are some examples:
- Specific: I want to lose body fat
- Measurable. I want to drop two dress/trouser sizes
- Attainable. I’d like to lose half a stone in 6 weeks
- Relevant. I want to walk-up hills without being out of breath
- Time Specific. I’d like to lose the weight before my summer holiday
Top tips
To make the most of the session think about:
- What do you want to achieve from your membership?
- How often do you think you can attend the membership?
- What type of exercises or activities are you interested in doing?
What to bring
It's likely that we'll be using some of the gym equipment, so we suggest wearing comfortable gym clothes and trainers. Don't forget to bring a drink.
