ELEVATE is a free 3 step fitness pathway for all Active members.

Working closely with our fitness team we'll help you achieve your fitness goals in just 3 simple steps. 

 

3 Steps to Elevate your fitness

Step 1: GET STARTED: Let’s set your goals.  
First, we’ll discuss your reasons for becoming a member, discuss your aspirations and set some goals. In just 45 minutes we’ll have everything we need to build your fitness plan. 

What to expect from a GET STARTED session? 

First, we’ll talk through your reasons for joining, discuss your aspirations and set some SMART goals. We’ll also identify any barriers you face ahead of a complementary health and fitness check; including some key body metrics that will enable us to track your progress throughout your journey. 

What are SMART goals? 

SMART goals help us identify what you want to achieve, and make sure they are attainable.  
Here are some examples to help you think about yours ahead of the session. 

• Specific: I want to lose body fat 
• Measurable. I want to drop down two dress/trouser sizes 
• Attainable. I’d like to lose half a stone in 6 weeks 
• Relevant. I want to feel healthier, and walk-up hills without being out of breath 
• Time Specific. I’d like to lose the weight before my daughter's wedding on 12th June 2023 

Want some help identifying them? No problem.  
Whether you are at the start of your journey, recovering from an injury or want to train for a special event we’ll identify when and how you can build health and fitness into your routine.  

Building your plan. 

At the end of the meeting, we’ll have everything we need to design your plan. 

We’ll then book in a 45 minute Get Active session to run you through fitness plan and get you started. 

In the meantime, we offer some advice on exercises you could do whilst we create your plan. 

Top tips for Getting Started 
To get the most of out the time we’d like you to think about the following: 
1. What do you want to achieve from your membership? 
2. How often do you think you can attend the leisure centre? 
3. What type of exercises or activities are you interested in doing? 

Step 2: GET ACTIVE: Creating your plan. 
Next, we’ll book in a 'Get Active’ session to run through your fitness plan once we’ve designed it.  
Walking through each element of the plan, and the equipment you’ll be using. Plus, we’ll get you fully set up on the Active Wellness app so you can see your fitness plan, and track all your activities. 

What to expect from your GET ACTIVE session 
Having built your fitness plan, we’ll now walk through each stage of it, and explain why it matches your SMART goals we identified in our first meeting. From there we’ll head straight to the gym floor to make sure you know how to use any of the equipment you need to reach your goals. 

Where can I find my fitness plan? 
We’ll build your plan into the Active Wellness app allowing you to see you plan on the move.  
Active MyWellness also allows you to record any of your activity in the centre or when you are out and about giving a complete picture of your fitness.  
Don’t worry – we'll show you how to find, use and track your new fitness plan on the day.

What to bring to your Get Active session 
We’ll work through your fitness plan so come prepared to work out, and bring a towel and a drink. 

After just 45 minutes you’ll be ready to start your new fitness plan! 

Step 3: STAY FOCUSED: Keeping you on track.  
We’re here to support you at every step, but recommend a scheduling a check in after 6 week.  
During this time we’ll review your progress, what’s working and what isn’t and then create a new fitness plan to keep you focused on achieving your goals. 

During your Stay Focused session, we’ll review how you’ve been getting on with your fitness plan. 

Taking the time to understand what’s been a success, and what’s been more of a challenge, and then looking at opportunities to mix things up to keep it fresh or focus on core activities that align to your goals. This could be: 

  • Keeping things fresh by introducing new exercises 

  • Discussing the benefits of group exercise 

  • Looking at new activities that would complement your goals 

Updating your plan

We’ll build any changes to your fitness plan into Active MyWellness so you can get going straight away. Simple. 

Elevate junior is designed to help 11-15 year olds start their fitness journey in the right way; structured, safe and with confidence. Each session includes:

  • An introduction to fitness. A session with a qualified fitness instructor to ensure they know how to use all the equipment safe and correctly
  • A fitness plan. Designed to guide them into the world of exercise with a set routine
  • Active Wellness account. Where they can see, track and monitor their fitness routine
