Views sought on proposed new health and leisure complex for Berwick
People living and working in and around Berwick are being invited to give their views on a proposal to develop a new sports and leisure centre for the town, its location and the facilities they would like to see in it.
There has been some early discussion about the possible development of a new integrated health, social care and leisure complex in Berwick. It could potentially bring together a new hospital, some GP services, health and care staff who work in the community, and leisure services, all on one site.
Active Northumberland the charitable trust that manages the Swan Leisure Centre in Berwick has organised two listening events in April to gather the views of local people around the sport and leisure aspect of this development proposal.
The listening events will be informal, drop in sessions to give members of the public the chance to call by for a short time to give their views.
Residents will be asked how they feel about the initial idea, their preference of three potential sites and what facilities they would like provided in a new local sports and leisure centre.
Partners NHS Northumberland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have been seeking local people’s thoughts from a health perspective.
The drop in sessions will take place on:
Wednesday 4th of April between 2-6pm in The Swan Centre, Northumberland Road, Tweedmouth, TD5 2AS
Saturday 7th of April 11-3 pm in the Guildhall, Marygate, Berwick, TD15 1BN
