An appeal is being made for volunteers to help at Pegasus Riding for the Disabled Centre in Morpeth which is managed by Active Northumberland in association with the Riding for Disabled Association (RDA).
Regular help is needed to assist with leading the ponies during classes at the centre. Some knowledge of handling horses would be an advantage although not essential as training will be given.
Help is needed on the following times :
Tuesday afternoon between 1 & 4pm
Tuesday evening between 6 and 7pm for a Useful Vision Group of visually impaired riders
Wednesday 1.30 - 4pm
Thursday 12.30 - 2.30pm & 5 - 7pm
Friday 1.15 - 2.30 pm
Saturday 10 - 3pm
The Morpeth Riding For The Disabled Group (RDA) is a registered charity giving people with special needs and disabilities a chance to develop their abilities and enrich their lives through riding specially trained ponies.
Over 300 riders aged between 4 to 67 use the centre each week, travelling from all over the county and even Tyneside to attend. The Pegasus Centre is managed by Active Northumberland.
