Vampire Swim

Vampire Swim
Many people in Northumberland are already registered Blood Donors with the National Health Trust Blood & Transplant Service and we regular see you donating blood when our sites host blood donor sessions. As a thank you and to continue to raise awareness and encourage more people to register as a Blood Donor, on the 10th and 11th November Active Northumberland will be opening our pools for anyone with a blood donor card to swim for free.

We are supporting the international blood drive through the Vampire Swim which was origionaly setup by open water swimers in the United States. One of our colleagues has sort to bring the awareness campaign over the UK and after recently swimming from the Farne Islands to the iconic Bamburgh Castle, we are further supporting her work by arranging to open our pools for free.

We are holding specific sessions where you simply have to show your donor card or letter which shows you as a registered blood donor and are able to swim for free.
