Blyth Valley Trust for Youth Gilbert Barker Awards

Blyth Valley Trust for Youth aims to provide grants to local young people who are active in the fields of the arts, sport and science.

 
  • Gilbert Barker Awards will be given to enable successful applicants to attend Centres of Excellence, or equivalent standard.

 
  • Applicants should be aged 21 years or under and be resident within the former Borough of Blyth Valley (Blyth, Cramlington or Seaton Valley).

 
  • Young people with a registered disability or SEN are encouraged to apply.

 
  • Applicants should be of amateur status.

 
  • Grants will not support costs for further or higher education / study.

 
  • Applicants are requested to apply for grants for specific costs associated with their activity (e.g. equipment £124, travel £73, total grant request £197).  A full breakdown of costs is required.

 
  • Successful applicants will receive grants of up to £500.   

 
  • Applicants who are successful will be asked to retain copies of receipts, complete a short pro forma explaining how the grant has helped them to progress in their chosen activity and could be invited to a presentation event.

Completed applications must be emailed to lparis@activenorthumberland.org.uk or posted to Blyth Sports Centre, Blyth NE24 5BT.  Applications must be received no later than Sunday 24th June 2018
