Ashington’s charity Aerobathon smashes fundraising record

A charity Aerobathon at Ashington Leisure Centre has raised over £2,000 in just three hours for Cancer Research UK.

Over two hundred people turned to support the event to make a donation or take part in Zumba, Clubbercise, Aerobics, Body Combat and Salsa sessions.

The money is being raised by the Team Susie Cancer Charity which has raised over £45,000 towards Cancer Research UK over recent years by holding fundraising events across the region.

Fitness Coordinator Lindsey Humble from Active Northumberland organised the Aerobathon event. She said:

“We were hoping for a big turnout and the local community didn’t disappoint. We  managed to beat the amount we raised last year which is a great achievement. Thank you to everyone who turned out to support us and contribute in their own way to this worthwhile cause that is valued by so many.”
