Keep trim in state of the art new gym
New state-of-the-art gym and spinning equipment is to be installed in the Swan Centre later this month.
The £120k equipment upgrade will incorporate sophisticated Technogym equipment, adding to and updating the technical capabilities of the current machines.
To allow for the upgrade work, the gym will be closed for a week from Friday 17th November and re-open on Monday 27th November.
Other facilities at the centre – including the pool, classes and sports courts will remain open as usual.
The new equipment includes 21 new spin bikes, two rowing machines, two climbers and eight skillmill treadmills.
A new functional training rig incorporating battle ropes, chin and dip bars and resistance bands can be used for one to one sessions or in a class format for up to 8 people.
Cutting-edge technology will link mobile phones to the machines (via the Cloud and mywellness Mobile App) to track both indoor and outdoor fitness sessions. The equipment will automatically set up with the users programme and their results will be tracked on their mywellness account.
The app can also be used to create a personal fitness program, use virtual fitness coaches to guide you through your workout, and keep track of your body measurements (weight, fat percentage etc.), to track your progress over time.
The centre is also investing in a new Tanita body analyser which will accurately measure both body fat and body mass giving a true indicator of your inner health. When monitored over time, the analyser can show the impact of any fitness regime or weight loss programme helping you to achieve your optimal fitness and improve your health and wellbeing.
