Sporting Club Bedlington opening its doors
Bedlington residents will have access to community fitness facilities after the town’s Sporting Club opens its doors to members of the public next week on Monday, May 8th.
Sporting Club Bedlington, which is based at Bedlingtonshire Community High School on Palace Road, will open to members of the public during the evenings, weekends and school holidays.
Facilities at Sporting Club Bedlington include a gym with 27 stations and a health and fitness studio which will host a range of fitness classes. There is also a multi-functional hall with four badminton courts, which are also suitable for other activities such as basketball, netball and five-a-side football.

To let the public see what’s on offer, there will be open days on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May
from 10.00am-2.00pm where people can view facilities and sign up to a membership.
A programme of fitness classes has been developed and activities include Legs, Bums and Tums
(Mondays, 6.00pm-7.00pm) and Boogie Bounce
, a class which is only available at Sporting Club Bedlington
. Limited places (up to a maximum of 8 people) are available for this fun, low impact, easy on the joints fitness class on trampettes. Boogie Bounce classes are being held on Tuesday evenings (6.00-6.30pm and 6.45pm-7.15pm) and Friday evenings (5.30pm-6.00pm and 6.15pm-6.45pm) and must be booked in advance.
The fitness facilities will be open to residents from 5.00pm-10.00pm Mondays to Fridays, 9.00am-5.00pm on Saturdays and 9.00am-2.00pm on Sundays, during term time and school holidays.
Single site membership, which includes access to the gym at Sporting Club Bedlington only costs £20 a month on a 12 month contract or £24 a month on a flexi contract (minimum three months). Classes will be charged on a pay as you go basis. Active Northumberland multisite membership costs from £32 per month and gives members unlimited access to 450 weekly fitness classes, 16 gyms, 10 swimming pools, one to one consultation sessions, and a wide range of leisure facilities.
