If you’re looking for a career in the sports and leisure industry, The Level 3 Diploma in Fitness, Coaching and Leisure Operations delivered in partnership with TyneMet College and Active Northumberland offers a vocational course ideally suited to those with the hunger and determination to have a successful career within the industry. The Level 3 Diploma in Fitness, Coaching and Leisure Operations, a 2 year full-time course based at Concordia Leisure Centre Cramlington, has been developed to meet the specific needs of the leisure industry. It is hoped that the course will benefit both employers AND employees as the diploma focuses on skills that employers in the leisure industry need.

The course will fully prepare students for a future apprenticeship or employment, giving them the chance to work alongside professionals in the leisure industry. The course will involve 2 and a half days teaching based at Concordia, with up to 2 days voluntary placement each week across Active Northumberland centres. The placements offered are varied and encompass a range of different areas including Leisure operations, Coaching and Sports Development.
The course also offers a number of additional extras including the opportunity to participate in subsidised NGB qualifications and awards e.g. coaching qualifications, the opportunity to complete relevant fitness based qualifications and awards as well as a subsidised kit pack.
Previous students upon completion of the course have gone on to pursue a variety of careers including Fitness instruction, Personal Training, Lifeguard, Leisure Centre employment, Swimming and Sports Coaching whilst other have continued with further qualifications at university.
An open event is taking place on Thursday 29th September at Concordia to enrol for this year's course. The open event will take place from 4.30-6.30pm in the foyer of Concordia Leisure Centre.
