Views and location

With the best views on the seaside, you’ll look across golden sands and glistening sea, watching surfers, canoeists, walkers and sea anglers enjoy this popular spot on Northumberland’s striking coast. No trip to the beach is complete without fish and chips and you’ll be close to one of the best-loved in Blyth. This prime location also has a large play area, coastal walks and cycle paths nearby, as well as free parking. For a break from the beach, go into Blyth town centre to see the thriving marketplace or inside Blyth Sports Centre for leisure activities to suit all ages.

The Huts

There are 20 beach huts in total and their standout, brightly painted timber is now immediately recognisable as a Blyth attraction. The huts have been individually named by children from the local primary school and their artwork is displayed inside.

Facilities

Each hut has a kettle, two deck chairs and a terraced area at the back. The Dave Stephens Centre is close by where there are public toilets and external showers. Animals are not allowed, this includes in the beach hut, tied up outside or on the main beach. Smoking and barbeques are also not allowed in the huts or on the terraced area.

How to book

There are two booking options. Our beach huts are very popular so book early to avoid disappointment:

Winter
Rented on a 9-month lease, you’ll have your own beach hut to use whenever you want between September and May. Have a unique Christmas Day on the beach or snuggle up on weekends as you admire the remarkable coastal views. Local clubs are also welcome to rent our beach huts during this time.
Winter leases cost £500.

Summer
During summer months, we hire out the huts on a daily rate for £25 with a £5 deposit, returned to you upon departure. This is ideal for visitors who want a full beach experience for the day with the option of having a little shelter while you enjoy a cup of tea.
On the day of your arrival, you can choose to collect your keys between 8am and 10am at the Dave Stephens Centre or at the Blyth Sports Centre from 7am to close. You must return your key to the centre you picked it up from and you must leave the hut by 7pm.

Staff are on hand between 8am and 11am nearby at the Dave Stephens Centre if you have any queries.
